Small Business Relief Fund: Aina Clothing

Small Business Relief Fund: Aina Clothing

Aloha!

This really isn't my thing to ask for assistance like this, but with all my events being cancelled for the foreseeable future, I wasn't sure what else to do.

I am launching a GoFundMe campaign as a response to the Small Business Relief Initiative. Sponsored by GoFundMe, Yelp, and Intuit QuickBooks, the Initiative will issue $500 matching grants to qualifying businesses that raise at least $500 on GoFundMe. Thanks to this initiative, even small contributions to Aina Clothing through GoFundMe will make a big impact!

If you can't donate, please consider supporting in other ways, such as subscribing for newsletters, following social media, giving a share or making a purchase.

Thank you for your time and support, and please stay safe and healthy.

Helptoberfest and Yellowstone Forever

Helptoberfest and Yellowstone Forever

Helptoberfest kicks off with Yellowstone Forever as the first featured organization. Now through October 10th, Aina will donate 15% of sales to Yellowstone Forever.
Yellowstone Forever—formerly the Yellowstone Association and Yellowstone Park Foundation—is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park.
We partner with Yellowstone National Park to create opportunities for all people to experience, enhance, and preserve Yellowstone forever.
Our educational programming, products, and services help people enjoy, understand, and appreciate the wildlife, geology, and cultural history of the park. The opportunities Yellowstone Forever provides for volunteerism and community relations develop and engage new stewards for the park. Through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship of people who love the park, Yellowstone Forever is building a broad network of philanthropic supporters dedicated to preserving the park.

Helptoberfest

Helptoberfest

A few years ago I was having a crappy day when I received an email that lifted my spirits. Someone that I know took a minute of their time to do something that probably would seem small and trivial to most, but could result in a positive outcome. It got me thinking about an article that an old high school friend had wrote; “Stand Up For Something, Staying Good At Life”. The major part of the article is “Assistance comes in many forms. Volunteer in your community. Help by giving someone a good referral. Put in a good word for someone. Hold open a door for someone. Make a donation. Be active in your community. Smile at someone.”

So I came up with this idea, Helptoberfest, and for the month of October I posted about different charities, events and inspirational quotes. Last year I expanded upon this idea. For the month of October I will donate 15% of sales to charities and organizations that are environmentally and/or outdoor focused. I’ll donate to four different groups, one will be highlighted for a seven day period. If you are involved with or know of one that you would like to see featured let me know. Aina is a very small business, it won’t be a lot of coin, but every bit helps.

Hopefully this reminds you to “Stay Good At Life”.

Helptoberfest & Student Conservation Association

Helptoberfest & Student Conservation Association
Helptoberfest continues with the Student Conservation Association being the next beneficiary and now through October 24th, Aina Clothing will donate 15% of sales to help build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of our environment.

SCA provides college & high school-aged members with hands-on conservation service opportunities in a vast array of fields. Every year the SCA motivates and deploys thousands of young people who care passionately about improving their natural world. They put them to work in our parks and public lands and urban green spaces to make improvements and learn conservation and sustainability practices. They teach them how to plan, enact, and lead, all while making a tangible impact in conservation.

SCA members protect, enhance, and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, and urban green spaces across the United States. They serve year-round in programs lasting anywhere from two weeks to twelve months.

Helptoberfest & American Rivers

Helptoberfest & American Rivers

Next up for Helptoberfest is American Rivers, and now through October 18th Aina Clothing will donate 15% of sales to these protectors of rivers and clean water.

Healthy rivers are vital to fish and wildlife and support outdoor activity and healthy lifestyles.

Forty-four percent of assessed waterways in the U.S. are too polluted for fishing and swimming.

American Rivers protects wild rivers, restores damaged rivers, and conserves clean water for people and nature. Since 1973, American Rivers has protected and restored more than 150,000 miles of rivers. To do this, they build partnerships and work closely with local river advocates, business and agriculture interests, recreation groups and others to forge win-win solutions.

Helptoberfest

Helptoberfest

Back in late September of 2013 I was having a crappy day when I received an email that lifted my spirits. Someone that I know took a minute of their time to do something that probably would seem small and trivial to most, but could result in a positive outcome. It got me thing about an article that an old high school friend had recently wrote; “Stand Up For Something, Staying Good At Life”. The major part of the article is “Assistance comes in many forms. Volunteer in your community. Help by giving someone a good referral. Put in a good word for someone. Hold open a door for someone. Make a donation. Be active in your community. Smile at someone.” So I came up with this idea for the month, Helptoberfest and for the month of October I posted about different charities, events and inspirational quotes. I skipped last year for whatever reason, but this year I want to expand upon this idea. For the month of October I will donate 15% of sales to charities and organizations that are environmentally and/or outdoor focused. I’ll donate to five different groups, one will be highlighted for a six day period. If you are involved with or know of one that you would like to see featured let me know. Aina is a very small business, it won’t be a lot of coin, but every bit helps.

Hopefully this reminds you to “Stay Good At Life”.

12 Lessons The Rest Of The Country Could Learn From Hawaii

12 Lessons The Rest Of The Country Could Learn From Hawaii

"Life is better when lived slowly." Hard to say what my favorite lesson is, but I think I'll go with that.
How about you? It's a quick read, check it and let me know. In the mean time I'm going to find me some more of that Aloha Spirit.
